Je suis professeure de biologie dans un collège communautaire à New York. Je m'engage dans l'enseignement, la science, et l’activisme de LGBTQIA+ pour créer un meilleur endroit pour l'expérience humaine.

Enseigner la biologie est plus que ma carrière. C'est ma passion. Le système éducatif américain subit une restructuration majeure, et la façon dont nous enseignons en son sein doit également changer si nous voulons puiser dans la riche richesse de talents inhérente à notre culture diversifiée.

RECHERCHE

Pour moi, il vaut bien mieux appréhender l'Univers tel qu'il est réellement que de persister dans l'illusion, aussi satisfaisante et rassurante soit-elle. - Carl Sagan

J'ai commencé ma carrière scientifique en me concentrant sur la biologie thermique et l'énergétique, mais j'ai élargi mes intérêts à l'écologie et à l'évolution. Mon objectif actuel est de comprendre l'écologie urbaine à travers des modèles basés sur des traits.

La ville de New York continue de montrer la voie en matière de droits LGBTQIA+ et je participe activement au renforcement de notre communauté. Une grande partie de mon travail se concentre sur le Consortium CUNY LGBTQIA+, qui travaille à la construction de campus dynamiques dans notre ville.
